Caring Ministry
Phil, Mary Ircink, and other members visit and call on members of our congregation who are unable to attend church services or activities.
Prayer Ministry
Prayer chain members pray for members, friends, and family.
Chariot Ministry
Members provide transportation assistance to those who need it. There is a need for more members to help with this ministry.
Parish Nurse
Mary Ircink serves on a part-time basis to minister to our members’ health and well-being.
Visitor communication
We obtain names and addresses of guests and create a guest information card. Nametags are created and additional communication by the Pastor follows including a welcome packet. We are continually revisiting ways to improve our efforts in welcoming visitors and new members. Inquirer’s Classes and New Member Parties are scheduled for those interested in membership. Wendy Proctor hosted a party during the spring to welcome new members, and we will host other gatherings this year.
Advertising
Along with many UCC churches in the Madison area we have reduced our spending on advertising in newspapers. We now have an ad in the Fitchburg Update (a mailing that goes to Fitchburg residents quarterly). We continue to search for ways to increase our community presence, and once again hosted a food table at Fitchburg Days.
Other
We helped coordinate catering and table service at funerals.
We coordinated and delivered meals to church families in need.
We organized the creation of a new photo directory to be released in early 2010.

Goals for 2010
Increase community awareness of MUCC by participating in community events.
Seek additional members for our committee and add drivers to Chariot Ministry.
Host events at the church that have a community and church wide appeal.
