Reaching out in 200 ways
When Memorial UCC dedicated its new church 20 years ago, Rev. Frederick Trost, the conference minister for the United Church of Christ in Wisconsin, challenged us to look out into the world through our windows and “move from here to there.”

As a congregation, we reach across the world with our partnership with Christmas Lutheran Church in Bethlehem. We reach across the nation with our work camps at Back Bay Mission in Biloxi, Mississippi. We serve the people of our community with meals at Luke House, food for Allied Drive, shelter through the Interfaith Hospitality Network. Last year, our members contributed some $34,000 through our congregation to causes beyond the walls of this church.

But people here “move from here to there” in a wide variety of ways. Here are some of the things people associated with Memorial give their time or money to that make a difference in our community and our world.  This represents only a slice of what people are involved in, based on those who responded in early April 2009.
