CROP Walk 2015

This is the 30th Anniversary of the CROP Walk in Madison. This year’s event is Sunday, Oct. 18. Registration starts at 12:45 and the walk begins at1:30, at First Congregation UCC, University Ave, Madison.  The walk is not long or strenuous, but symbolic.  You can start signing up now for our team, the MUCCWalkers.  Look for the info in the narthex.
And here is a note from the folks at Second Harvest concerning last year’s walk:
Kris Tazelaar, Communications Manager at Second Harvest Foodbank of Southern Wisconsin, offers her thanks and encouragement to the Madison Area CROP Walk, “Second Harvest Foodbank of Southern Wisconsin is southwestern Wisconsin’s largest hunger-relief organization. Through food distribution to our local partner agencies and helping to leverage other public and private food resources, we provided more than 5.5 million meals in 2015 in Dane County alone. Last year the nearly $10,000 from the Madison Area CROP Walk were distributed to 34 partner food pantries throughout Dane County and Second Harvest’s Mobile Pantry Program. Despite the millions of meals distributed by  Second Harvest, there are still millions more that are needed every year. That’s where you come in. Together we walk, because together we can end hunger!”
