Green Team: Memorial’s Commitment to Creation Justice

From the GreenTeam

During our Earth Day service on Sunday you heard the covenant that Memorial’s Green Team has created.  For those of you who would like to take a closer look at this covenant we have included it in this article.

Memorial UCC Covenant final version

Because we are committed to eco-faith and eco-justice, Memorial UCC has welcomed planet Earth as a member of our congregation. We celebrate, restore and nurture the Earth so that future generations will be able to thrive on a clean, pollution-free planet. We affirm our responsibility to environmental stewardship and Earth justice to care for and nurture God’s creation. We are dedicated to continue the sustainable efforts currently in place and to implement our Kairos sustainability goals for the beauty of the Earth.

During Coffee hour we heard about many interesting things. Thanks to Michael Bryant for leading our mission moment and our conversation.   Thanks to all of you who joined in and offered questions and suggestions.  Here are some links for you to checkout  if you are interested.

The class that Michael took was offered by Sustain Dane. If you’re unable to attend the class, here’s a video that Michael made on our YouTube channel telling us what he’s learned.

The Green Life Trading Company is the shop that was mentioned.  It is  located at 1334 Williamson St.

Pelliteri Waste Management is the company that Michael mentioned.
