TRANSITION SUNDAY
November 25, we will celebrate Transition Sunday during the services at 8:15 and 10 am. This tradition at Memorial UCC is tied to the German tradition of Toten Fest in the Evangelical and Reformed roots of our congregation. Toten Fest translates as “Festival of the Celebration of the Dead.” On this last Sunday of the church’s calendar year, we will remember through song and the lighting of candles, members of the church that have passed away in the previous year – as well as lift up the many other transitions people in the congregation have experienced: the birth of a child, a new school, job change, wedding, a move – acknowledging that change brings a range of feelings into our lives.
